Celebrating Outstanding A Level Results in 2023

As the academic year draws to a close, the Bancroft's community are beaming with pride as they reflect on yet another year of impressive A Level results.
  • An impressive 89% of students achieved A*-B grades, marking an increase from pre-pandemic years
  • 66% of students earned the top A*-A grades, with 35% securing  A*s
  • There has been an increase in the number of A*s achieved compared to pre-pandemic years
  • Eighteen students received 3A*s and five students received 4A*s

Phil Harrison, Head of Sixth Form, provided insights on the accomplishments of our tenacious group of Upper Sixth students:

‘I have been so impressed with the maturity of this cohort, who have been alive to the myriad opportunities available to them, and it is encouraging to see so many students opting for such a diverse range of courses.

Many of our students are rightly demanding the very best in tuition and experience. This is reflected in the number of students who have chosen degree apprenticeships or courses with work experience and industrial placements at their core.’

Successful First-Choice University Placements

The pupils’ journeys continue with a wide array of degree courses, such as economics, art, law, music, veterinary science, engineering, illustration, medicine, PPE, liberal arts, and fashion. Offers have been accepted at highly competitive universities, including Oxbridge, University College London (UCL), Imperial College, London School of Economics (LSE), St Andrew’s, and Durham.

Oxbridge applicants are going on to read, History, Mathematics (2), Law, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (2), English, Land Economy, Medicine, Music and Natural Sciences.

A number of students are gaining real-world experience through degree apprenticeships and placement years at prestigious companies such as Morgan Stanley, JLL Residential, and PWC.

'The Sixth Form is about so much more than just academic grades, and this cohort will be fondly remembered for their strength of character, leadership, and incredible contributions to the life of the school. They have come through many challenges together and emerge as dynamic, creative, and ambitious young adults.
