Bancroft’s Athletes Shine at England Athletics National Championships

We are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of two of our Bancroft's athletes, Natasha and Caitlin, who left an indelible mark at the recent England Athletics National Championships.

On the opening day of the competition, Caitlin soared to new heights in the U15 girls long jump event. With a stunning best effort of 5.69 meters and a favourable tailwind of +2.7 m/s, Caitlin secured a well-deserved silver medal.

But the weekend’s excitement didn’t stop there. Natasha breezed through the U15 girls 800m heats on Saturday, setting the stage for an unforgettable final on Sunday. In a tactical display of skill and stamina, Natasha emerged as the National Champion in the 800m category, clocking an impressive time of 2 minutes and 15.87 seconds.

What adds an extra layer of exhilaration to their accomplishments is the prestigious venue itself – the Alexander Stadium, which had the honour of hosting the Commonwealth Games just last year. This wasn’t the first time Natasha and Caitlin graced the grounds of Alexander Stadium this year. In June, they showcased their prowess during the English Schools Track and Field Championships, adding to their impressive track records.

As we congratulate these two talented pupils, it’s worth noting that their achievements extend beyond this single event. Caitlin currently holds the impressive rank of No. 2 in the entire UK for Long Jump and, notably, is England’s No. 1-ranked long jumper. Meanwhile, Natasha claims the No. 3 spot in the UK for the 800m and is the second-ranked 800m athlete in England.

Brilliant work Natasha and Caitlin!
